Sunday Privacy Policy

Sunday values the safety and privacy of its users. This policy explains how Sunday collects, stores, or shares your data.

The Sunday mobile application (“App”) and website (mysunday.love) are referred to in this Privacy Policy as our “Sites”. While other user on our platform are referred to as “Users”. 

The App and Sites are hosted globally, and your information will be stored on the servers of our service providers. This Policy describes the type of data we collect and store/disclose.

Who we are

The App and Sites are operated by “Sunday” which is the owner/controller of personal data collected and processed through the App and Sites.

1. What we collect.

Registration Information

We may collect certain information about you when you download the App and create an account, which includes:

  • Name;

  • Email address;

  • Mobile number;

  • Gender identity;

  • Mobile ID

  • Date of birth;

  • Sexual preference;

  • Photographs; and

  • Location;

The information we collect helps to verify our Users and enhance the user-experience.

Verification Information (Including Aadhaar)

For safety and security, we require certain classes of Users to verify their accounts through KYC authentication and might ask for your phone number. 

We also want to avoid fake accounts being created which can be used for malicious activities, stalking, or harassment. 

This verification is mandatory for women who hold the discretion to invite men on the platform and might be required by us for the prevention of fraud. However, we do not store this information and a KYC authentication has to be undertaken each time women register on the app.

Geolocation Information

We collect your longitude and latitude information to show you profiles near to you. This information makes it easier for you to interact with other Users in proximity.

Device and Photos Information

We may collect information about your device including your Unique Device Identifier for a number of purposes, including to identify people we have banned from the app to make it safe. 

The images on your profile are blurred by default; however, are visible to other Users upon matching. 

Messages

We review the content of messages sent in the App to identify malicious or illegal activity across our Users. However, we do not share this with any third-party.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may collect personal data from you automatically by using cookies or similar technologies to recognize and remember you whenever you visit our Website or App.

2. How we use your information.

We aim to make your experience on our app delightful and hassle-free. In order to deliver that, we may use your Registration and other information to offer you services, contact you for new updates, personalise the services we deliver to you, analyse user behaviour for customisation, to investigate frauds/disputes, and improve our technology among other things.

Moderation (For safety)

We use both automated systems and manual moderation to review accounts (including photos and any other information) and messages for content that violates our Terms and Conditions policy.

If you post anything that is inconsistent with it, we reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to your Account.

3. What we share.

We do not share your Registration Information or personal data, except for availing services required for a seamless user experience, as mentioned here:

 Circumstances where data may be shared

1. Service Providers – We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to us like KYC verification. The data shared is only for the limited use-case of availing their services.

 Shared data

1. Name, Age, Date of Birth, Sex, Aadhaar Number

2. Business Transfers – If Sunday undergoes a business transition or change of ownership (partly or fully), we may be required to disclose your personal data.

2. This could include all personal data that Sunday holds about you.

Aggregated Information – We may share aggregated information with third parties that includes your personal data (non-identifiable) for marketing/advertising purposes (eg- Meta Ads).

4. What people see on your profile.

You have the option of making some personal information visible on your profile and hiding others, except that information which is mandatory to be made public.

We require certain sensitive information from you like your religion, social orientations, or political leanings for the matchmaking process. 

Also, please note that the images uploaded on your profile while blurred to other Users are visible to your matches.

5. Our Age Policy.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Sunday’s Services.

We do not knowingly collect any information from minors, or anyone under the age of 18 years. If we detect that any minor has made an account on our platform, we take steps to terminate the account as soon as possible.

Further, the parents of a minor must contact us through email for the deletion of their child’s account and data.

6. Our security.

We take all appropriate security measures to help protect your information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. Further, we use reasonable security measures to ensure confidentiality of your information.

However, no website or digital service is completely foolproof, and even we cannot guarantee that a breach of privacy or unauthorised access may never occur. 

We cannot guarantee the security of your data while it is being transmitted to our Sites and it is at your own risk. Thus, we request you to only use trusted wifi networks while registering or accessing services provided by Sunday.

7. Your rights.

You have the rights enshrined in the constitution of India as a citizen/foreigner. You are also protected by laws made by the Union of India and any state government, along with any order passed by the judiciary under appropriate jurisdiction.

If you have any concern about how we have processed your personal data, you should contact us in the first instance via the contact details listed on our Website.

8. Data location.

We want you to be able to access Sunday wherever efficiently across geographies. To enable us to provide that service, we use reputed global hosting service providers. Further, we use Wix for management of our Sites and it may store data according to its policy.

9. Data retention and deletion.

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the legal basis relied upon and as permitted by applicable law. 

When your Account is deleted, it is not visible to other users on the App.

If you desire to delete your account or data, you must send us an email on the email address provided on our Website.

We shall delete your data within a reasonable time upon receiving such mail, unless we must store it for a certain time period to comply with any law or regulation, for any open dispute until resolved, or to enhance the safety of other users (identifying banned/reported accounts).

10. Changes to the policy.

As Sunday evolves, we may revise this Privacy Policy as per the changes introduced. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at our Website.
